Did I mention that I like dancing,
and whistling in the dark
I frown hard when I’m thinking,
and I chuckle strangely when I’m scared
Did I tell you,
I love my coffee, bitter
.. oh and my chocolates too
I love the smell of fresh strawberries
... and Russian vodka too
Have you noticed,
I’m fearless when I don’t care;
I’m timid when I do
I’m wary and I’m cautius,
but so gullible to a chosen few
I veil my eyes with a mirthless laugh
Undrape them only if you really truly must.
..
..
.
Oh,
Did I mention that you could hurt me;
it’s not that difficult if you really try,
I hope you get to know me,
Do you? I don’t want to pry.
Did I mention that I like dancing?

It's all in the grip!
I had my first golf lesson on Tuesday and it was a nice change to go out for some fresh air. The nice and slightly unsettling part about living in a small town is that after a couple of months it becomes very difficult to not meet someone who is completely 'new' . You always have friends or something in common. So of course, I ended up 'sort of' knowing almost everyone else in the ten people batch. For a girl who has always lived in a large anonymous city, the wierdness still hasn't completely sunk in yet.
From the little golf that I have seen on TV, I always assumed that the pre swing posture and the gripping of the club was the most effortlessly comfortable position ever. WRONG. Apart from the acute knowledge of one's very unladylike position, the exact placement of the thumb, index finger, palm etc. on the club demands a bit of obsessing over. Not all of my balls managed to get airborne and some of them just rolled over the grass. But it was fun and I know I have a lot of 'how to swing' youtube videos to devour before the next class!
You get what you give
This video was shot in the lovely St. Salvatore's Quad. The quad was also the venue for the awesome Foam Fight on Raisin Monday and the Kate Kennedy Opening Ball. You can catch foamed up pictures of me at the former and dolled up pictures of me at the latter on the lovely FB. In the previous semester, I had my quantitative statistics lecture here every Thursday. Awesome, I know.
The funnny thing is that I actually recognize some of the people from the video. No particular reason for posting the video, just thought it was a good indicator of the variety of styles that you are likely to see while walking on one of the three and a half streets at St. Andrews. And yes, undergrads do wear their academic gowns on normal days. Shocking, I know.
The Candlemas Term 2010
If Candlemas Day be fair and bright
Winter will have another fight.
If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain,
Winter won't come again.Traditional
Google tells me that Candlemas is associated with ideas of purity, light and a sign that spring is not as far as you think. The University calandar is divided into two main terms.
The Martinmas Term is behind me and I look forward to starting the Spring One. Hey.. wasnt spring for new beginings, new life and all that.. hmm I see a pattern developing here.
I know I know
I know, I know. Long time no see.
It's not that my life has been uneventful or anything. In some high drama situations, I wouldn't have minded if it was.
I am aware that I have overused the 'sloppy time management' category on my trusty list of 'reasons why I didn't' , so I am going to slot this one into the 'has-been-too-low-on-my-list-of-priorities' box.
Anyway, I shall smile and wave and will pretend to ignore the year and a half gap in my cyberbucket of randomness.
So in short, the year in Stockholm was awesome, Going home for two months was blissfully uneventful. The UK was interesting in the past 4 months and I will attempt to fill you up when I can. Oh yes Christmas in Malaysia with 8 uncles and aunts and a dozen and a half of super fun cousins was definitely what the doctor ordered
So come back soon, because the need to vent has returned...muhahhahahaha... (evil laugh)
