My Sunday was spent really well, We went to Karlovo, a town historically significant in the uprising against the Ottoman empire, I promise I will post pictures soon.... It was a tiring day..I took an early morning mini bus to the train station...and I am convinced that I have found Bulgaria's answer to the ummm daredevil Indian auto rikshawwalla....meet the driver of the Matriushka(mini bus) No. 5......after the adrenaline rush...and after i composed myself...i realized that I was way ahead of the proposed meeting time and i decided to search for a cofeee vending machine....I found one a couple of metres away ...Its blinking electronic roman letters were encouraging me to 'Have a Relax Day'...quite odd for a stimulant dispensing machine I thought to myself...everything else was in cyrillic.....so I just pushed some random buttons and hoped for the best...
Anyway the others got there soon enough...I will post pictures soon ...
Oh, Yesterday the MC had an extremely formal evening, we were invited to the Military Club for the Bulgarian Buisness Leader's forum's Annual Awards for Responsible Buisness . AIESEC featured in two categories
1) Ernst and Young was nominated in the 'Investment in Human Capital Award' for its involvement with AIESEC Bulgaria
2) AIESEC Bulgaria was nominated for its 'Buisness in Practice' Entrepreneurship Project in the category of Projects benefiting Society
Well we didnt win ...but it was a great experience meeting all these famous Bulgarian Leaders, listening to talks by the MDs of the top companies....the people present included Ambassadors , an MP from the British Parliament..Investors....absolutely great...
All through the program, I was happy to be given headphones ...which provided me with simultaneous translations of everything around me....at last ! I could laugh with the others at jokes!! I promise pictures..soon..
After hors-d'oeuvres and exceptional white and red wine...We headed to E.B.'s place for an all night DecNatCo meeting...quite a day really.....
